The world famous Herters Duck decoys have been a favorite of serious waterfowlers for generations. Quality and performance is the result of carefully crafted decoys with hand painted non glare paint and realistic details.
The original Herters was a venerable Minnesota company that went out of business in 1979. The new company, founded in 1984, acquired the Herter name and assets, including its waterfowl molds.
In an effort to make decoys more lifelike, waterfowlers have rigged the decoys with anchor and line devices to make them move in the water as if they were feeding. Other approaches that Herters uses is adding the outstretched wings that attach to the decoys, or wind rotated wings that can be strapped to a floating duck decoy.
